Peer Counselor Scheduling

If you are already trained as a Peer Counselor, enter your username and password in the spaces to the right, and press "login," to view the Peer Counseling Scheduling Calendar and for on-line personalized scheduling.  If you are not trained, we invite you to enlist in our Volunteer Training Program (see below).  

Volunteers are the heartbeat of Downtown Pregnancy Help Center!

The team of volunteers at Downtown Pregnancy Help Center is made up of individuals like you who want to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Countless volunteers have commented that serving at Downtown Pregnancy Help Center has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of their lives. 

Women helping Women - become a volunteer peer counselor

  • Crisis - provide counsel, support, encouragement to those initially facing an unplanned pregnancy.
  • Pregnancy Support - Provide counsel/mentoring to birth moms throughout their pregnancy.
  • Sexual Health - provide abstinence until marriage and decision-making support to clients.
  • Layette - provide baby items and emotional support to new moms at the birth of their baby.
  • After Care - provide counsel/education to moms during the first year after the birth of their child.
  • Sheparding Homes  - provide housing to a birth mom during her pregnancy and six weeks afterwards.
  • Baby Shower Coordinator - coordinate baby showers with your local Church and/or Sunday school class for abortion vulnerable clients of Fifth Ward and Downtown Pregnancy Help Center.

Men helping Men - become a volunteer peer counselor

Crisis - provide counsel and education to men (birthfathers or father of the birth mom) 

*(Please note that individuals having direct client contact are required to complete our 14-hour volunteer training course as well as one-on-one in-house training. Completion of the training does not necessarily guarantee placement as a counselor. An application and interview process is required.)

More Opportunities for Involvement

  • Liaison - Be the contact at your church to keep church informed about Downtown Pregnancy Help Center events & needs.
  • Projects - Help with special projects, mailings, and events as needed.
  • Ladies Auxiliary - Join other ladies for special service projects, luncheons and meetings.
  • Special Skills - offer your talents (such as medical, advertising, fundraising, graphics, etc.)
  • Financial - Become a Friends of the Ministry partner with Downtown Pregnancy Help Center by making a monthly pledge on-line through egiving.
  • Attend our annual Celebrate Life! Banquet and sponsor a table. Bring your friends!

Opportunities for Churches and Groups

  • Host the baby bottle campaign - members collect change in bottles provided by Downtown Pregnancy Help Center It's a fun, easy way for members of all ages to get involved.
  • Volunteer for a group project: painting, making baby quilts, cleaning, help at the Banquet and or Golf Classic, see www.golfforelife.org.
  • Include Downtown Pregnancy Help Center in your home mission budget.
  • Collect a special offering at Sanctity of Human Life Sunday in January.
  • Prayer- join us in weekly prayer for the Fifth Ward and Downtown Pregnancy Help Center
